Because Coping Isn't the Same as Living
Aaron Kelly MA (Hons), MSc, MSc, MBACP, MNCPS (Acc).
Clinical Lead Psychological Therapist
Online Therapy for Students, Young Professionals and Adults Across the UK
Support for anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, self-doubt and relationship difficulties.
From the outside, things may appear to be going well. You might be meeting responsibilities, achieving goals and managing day-to-day life. Yet beneath the surface, you may feel overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck.
Perhaps you find yourself overthinking decisions, holding yourself to impossibly high standards, comparing yourself to others or struggling to switch off. You may feel caught between wanting more from life and fearing change, or notice that much of your energy goes into looking after others while your own needs are pushed aside.
Relationships can also be a source of stress and uncertainty. You may find yourself repeating familiar patterns, struggling to communicate your needs, feeling disconnected from others, or carrying the impact of difficult relationships. These experiences can affect confidence, self-worth and the way we relate to ourselves and others.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who appear to be coping on the outside, but privately feel overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck. As an accredited Psychological Therapist, I provide online therapy for individuals and couples across the UK. I draw on evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), to help people manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, build resilience and create meaningful, lasting change.
Therapy offers an opportunity to step out of survival mode, understand what's keeping you stuck and move towards a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and fulfilling.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have and explore whether we're a good fit to work together.

What Clients are Saying
“As someone with BPD, I’ve often felt like I was ‘too much’ in therapy. With Aaron, I felt truly seen. Our sessions helped me make sense of my emotions and build healthier ways to cope. I’m more stable, more self-compassionate, and feel hopeful for the first time in years”
Sophie
“We came to therapy feeling stuck and disconnected. With patience and guidance, we learned to really listen to each other and understand what was going on underneath the arguments. Our relationship feels stronger, more open, and more connected than it has in a long time”.
James & Priya
"Before starting therapy, I found myself getting overwhelmed by my emotions during conflicts with my partner. I would often react impulsively, which only made things worse and left me feeling frustrated and disconnected. Through therapy, I’ve learned practical strategies to recognise my emotional triggers and calm myself before responding. Aaron helped me develop better communication skills and build patience, which has completely changed the way I handle disagreements.

My Approach
Pluralistic
Yes… but what does that mean?
Well, I work from a range of therapeutic approaches to support your unique goals and preferences. Some people come to therapy wanting space to talk and process, while others prefer practical strategies, body awareness, or creative reflection. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, but together, we’ll find what works best for you.
This flexible, responsive way of working means therapy can evolve as your needs change. Whether we’re exploring your past, focusing on the present, or preparing for future challenges, sessions will always be tailored to you, grounded in curiosity, warmth, and mutual respect.
At the heart of my work is a strong commitment to collaboration. I believe therapy is most effective when it’s a shared process, shaped by both of us. You are the expert in your own life, and I bring psychological insight, tools, and space for reflection to support that expertise.
Clients often say they appreciate this open, empowering style because it helps them feel safe, respected, and in control of their own journey. Therapy becomes something we create together, not something that’s done to you.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step and it is normal to wonder what to expect. Our first session is a chance to get to know each other, explore what is bringing you to therapy, and set goals together. This session is your space to share at your own pace and I will explain how we can work together in a way that feels safe and supportive. From there, we will decide on the best approach forward.

Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes, which is a standard length that allows enough time to explore what’s on your mind while keeping the session focused and manageable.

Online therapy offers the flexibility to connect from the comfort of your own space, saving travel time and making it easier to fit sessions into a busy schedule. It provides access to support regardless of location, which can be especially helpful if mobility, anxiety, or distance are challenges. Many clients find online sessions just as effective and feel safe and supported in a familiar environment.

All therapy sessions at Caledonian Counselling take place online via Zoom, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home, no matter where you are in the UK.
Zoom is a secure and reliable video platform, and your confidentiality is a top priority. Sessions are never recorded, and all conversations are protected using end-to-end encryption. You’ll receive a private Zoom link before each session, and only you and I will have access to the call.
I recommend choosing a quiet, private space where you feel safe and at ease during your sessions. Online therapy offers the same depth, care and professionalism as in-person work, while giving you the convenience and flexibility to access support in a way that fits your life.
If you have any questions about how online therapy works or what to expect, I’m happy to talk you through it.
